Deep Thoughts

Gentle geographical gradients are ever so much more noticeable when running than when walking.

They're even more noticeable when attempting to run while pushing a jogging stroller containing a sturdy four-year-old.

That is all.

No kidding! There are way more hills in the world than I ever noticed before I took up running.

I'm completely impressed that you're doing it with the stroller. I think you get extra points for that.

I think I should get extra points, too, for assembling the exercise bike that was delivered to our door in a big box full of pieces-parts yesterday. It worked the VERY FIRST TRY.

Or do I actually need to ride it to get points? JoyDad worked out with it this morning, so maybe the bike points go to him.

You get MAJOR points for this, my dear!

This reminds me of the time I tried to puch Nik in his "travelsystem" stroller w/carrier AND a portable oxygen tank (prob. weighed 15 pounds alone) up a hill in CA when he was a wee thing. OMG, I thought I was going to need a medic when I reached the top of the hill! Never did *that* again! LOL

Niksmom - I've been getting some "stroller-on-the-hill" practice walking Rose to school with Joy in the stroller a couple of times per week -- her school is up quite a steep hill, and the stroller definitely adds an extra dimension. I have not attempted either to bike or run up that particular hill myself, let alone with a stroller full of Joy, though I see people doing it all the time. Some points are not worth the earning!

oh, hell yeah .. but i also love how much more of the world we see by foot or bike .. it's amazing how much we miss zooming by in a car!

You oughta try pushing a landscaping boulder up a hill on a two-wheeled hand truck, now there's a workout...

And yep, kudos to JoyMama for assembling the exercise bike. It was nice to get some exercise again. I haven't been able to run since spring due to problems with my Achilles tendon. All of JoyMama's posts about running have made me jealous...

You have my praise and admiration - both JM &JD. But I know the *points* are rendered internally within each of thee - not from us here.

However, JoyDad might give JoyMama some *points* for NOT ordering and assembling an above the ground pool. lol.
